Most of us, at some point, use more than one NHS service; visiting GPs, attending hospital appointments, receiving mental health support, or accessing social care. But while these services are part of the NHS system, the data they generate often sits in separate places. Bringing this data together helps to plan services that reflect the expected demand.

The Sussex Integrated Dataset (SID) is a comprehensive longitudinal dataset that connects patient and activity data from providers across Sussex.  At last count, the dataset covered 3.4m people, all personal data is anonymised.

By linking primary, secondary, social care, demographics & mental health, the SID supports the planning and improvement of local services to better meet the needs of our population.  If the right questions are asked, this dataset has the potential to significantly improve the health & wellbeing of Sussex residents.
